Hedge-Dissolving Oil

Daily Maintenance After the Breaking

The working in the Magician chapter tears the hedge down. This oil is what you hand the client when you're done — their daily practice, their anchor, the thing that keeps the path clear once it's been opened. You don't do the breaking and then leave them standing in an open field with nothing. This is the follow-through.

This is a 10ml roller bottle formula — small enough to carry, strong enough to matter. It goes on pulse points once a day. Wrists, throat, behind the ears if they're inclined. The client charges it themselves before they use it each time, shakes it, rolls it on, and they're done. Simple is right. The work has already been done. This is maintenance, not ritual.

When an aggressive hedge is torn away, the aura underneath can feel raw. Exposed. Like skin after a bad sunburn. This oil is the aloe. It cools what's inflamed, seals what was left open, and reminds the body that it is sovereign now.

Why These Ingredients

Every ingredient in this bottle is doing two jobs at once — one practical, one spiritual. That's the Empress way. Nothing wasted. Nothing decorative. Everything growing toward a purpose.

Vitamin E Oil

Preserves the blend so it doesn't go rancid — your practical job. Spiritually it carries fortitude, endurance, and long-lasting stamina. Once the hedge is down, the client needs staying power to keep it down against whoever put it there.

Aloe Vera Gel

Deeply soothing to skin that's been under stress — your practical job. Spiritually it heals the tears in the energetic field left when a controlling boundary is ripped away. It cools the psychic inflammation and seals the aura in a clean protective layer.

Lemon Essential Oil

Cuts and clarifies. Strips away the sticky residue that controlling energy leaves behind. Lemon doesn't negotiate — it just clears.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Opens. Moves stagnant energy out and fresh energy in. Good for someone who has been spiritually crowded for a while and needs room to breathe again.

Black Pepper Essential Oil

The same aggressive rupture energy that went into the breaking wash, now in maintenance form. Keeps the dissolved hedge from trying to grow back. Tells it no, firmly, every single day.

Carrier Oil

Jojoba or grapeseed — use what you have. This is what makes the blend skin-safe and spreadable. Vitamin E is too thick to carry alone at full concentration; the carrier gives it somewhere to go.

A Note on Oil and Water

Aloe vera gel is water-based. Essential oils are oil-based. They will separate in the bottle — that is not a sign anything went wrong, that is just chemistry. The client must shake the bottle vigorously before every single use. This is not optional and it is not just practical advice: the shaking is itself an act of intention, a daily reclaiming of the formula's purpose. Shake it like you mean it.

The Recipe — 10ml Roller Bottle

Hedge-Dissolving Oil

Fills one 10ml / 0.34oz roller bottle
  • Carrier oil (jojoba or grapeseed) ~6.5ml · 70%
  • Aloe vera gel (clear, high-quality) ~2ml · 20%
  • Vitamin E oil ~0.5ml · 5%
  • Lemon essential oil 4 drops
  • Peppermint essential oil 3 drops
  • Black pepper essential oil 2 drops
  • Pinch of fine salt just a pinch
  1. Drop the pinch of salt into the empty roller bottle first. Salt anchors the working and keeps the energetic frequencies of the essential oils locked in place when you add them.
  2. Add your essential oils directly onto the salt — lemon, peppermint, black pepper, in that order. Let them sit for a moment on the salt before you add anything else.
  3. Add the Vitamin E oil.
  4. Pour in the carrier oil (jojoba or grapeseed) to the 70% fill line — roughly 6.5ml.
  5. Top with the aloe vera gel. Use a high-quality clear gel, not raw plant juice, so it suspends better in the blend.
  6. Press the roller ball firmly into place.
  7. Shake vigorously until the mixture goes uniformly cloudy. This is your emulsion. It will separate again when it sits — that is expected.
  8. Hold the bottle in both hands and charge it with intent. Speak the incantation below over it. Set it in moonlight or sunlight for a few hours if you have the time, then hand it to your client.

The Charging Incantation

Speak this while holding the sealed bottle. Speak it slowly, like you mean every word, because you do. This is the moment the formula becomes a working rather than a recipe.

Spoken over the sealed bottle

Oil of iron and acid, cut the binding vine.
Vitamin of strength, preserve his sovereign mind.
Aloe of deep healing, soothe the wounded space.
Wither every hostile hedge, and leave no trace.

Instructions for the Client

Keep this simple when you hand it to them. They don't need the whole lecture. They need to know three things:

Shake it first. Every single time, before it touches their skin. Not a quick swirl — shake it until it clouds. The oil and aloe will have separated. That's normal. The shaking is part of the working.

Roll it on pulse points. Wrists. Throat. Behind the ears if they want. Wherever they feel they carry tension or where they feel the most exposed. The pulse carries the formula through the body's own current.

Say something when they put it on. It doesn't have to be the full incantation. It can be as simple as: I am open. I am free. What was bound does not hold me. Three seconds. Said like they mean it. That is what keeps the maintenance active rather than letting it just sit as perfume on the skin.

They use it every morning for at least thirty days after the breaking. After that, as needed — before difficult interactions, after encounters with people who drain them, any time they feel the crowded sensation returning.

If you haven't read the breaking working that this oil supports, that page lives in the Magician chapter — Breaking the Hedge. The breaking and the oil are a pair — one opens the door, the other keeps it from swinging shut again. Do the work in that order and the results hold longer.

From the Apothecary The Empress doesn't hand you a remedy.
She hands you something that grows.
