Feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist
One of only three birthdays celebrated in the Catholic calendar. John the Baptist, the voice in the wilderness who prepared the way. A day for purification, water blessings, and speaking truth even when it is unwelcome. Midsummer bonfires traditionally burned on this night.
